چکیده
There have been several emphasized pathways toward a reduction in carbon footprint the built environment such as recycling, technologies with lower energy consumption, and alternative materials. Among materials, bio-based materials nature inspired solutions well-received. This study examines merits of using rice husk ash replacement for lime; lime has high mainly associated decomposition calcium carbonate to oxide form lime. Lime is commonly used bituminous composites roadway construction mitigate their susceptibility moisture damage. Replacing low-carbon could allow CO2 equivalent composites. paper studies (RHA) substitute conventional hydrated (HL) It should be noted that industries burn husks boiler fuel, generating substantial volume RHA. The disposal this major environmental impacts contamination air water. Here, we physical chemical characteristics both HL RHA use bitumen mixtures. was followed by examining extent dispersion each filler via optical microscopy ensure uniform dispersion. properties mixtures were further studied Marshall mix design method. found 25.67% increase stability 5.95% decrease optimum binder content achieved when replaced at 4% concentration. In addition, containing exhibited higher resistance cracking permanent deformation compared HL. Additionally, showed stripping similar mixture had enhanced economic results provide insights pertaining reduce pavements.

Permeability of Lateritic Soil Treated with Lime and Rice Husk Ash
A-7-6 lateritic soil was treated at British Standard Light (BSL) compaction energy with up to 8% lime content (by dry weight of the soil) at 2% variations and each was admixed with up to 8% rice husk ash (RHA) at 2% variations. Effects of the ash on the soil-lime mixtures were investigated with respect to unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and coefficient of permeability. The UCS of the spec...
متن کاملThe Effect of Rice Husk Ash on Mechanical Properties of Clayey Soils Stabilized with Lime in the Presence of Sulphate
Geotechnical engineers, in many cases face with low strength or high swelling potential of clayey soils. Stabilization methods are used to improve the mechanical properties of this type of soils. Lime and cement are the most popular materials used in chemical stabilization of clayey soils. If sulphate exists in the stabilized clayey soil with lime, or if soil is exposed to sulphates, problems s...
